RESEARCH ON ESTABLISHMENT OF THE HARVESTING, PROCESSING AND DRYING OF Folium ardisiae

Ardisia gigantifolia Stapf is a precious plant that has been used commonly in traditional medicine in Vietnam. Folium ardisiae is an herbal remedy used to treat diseases of the stomach, duodenum…The leaves of Ardisia gigantifolia Stapf were harvested in Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province. The research result on the harvesting, processing and drying of Folium ardisiae show that after planting 1 year, the leaves should be harvested 3 - 4 times a year. That is not only give medicinal herbs of suitable harvest age but also give the quality of medicinal herbs. Treatment of medicinal herbs by autoclaving at 70 - 75^oC for 10 minutes is suitable for processing medicinal herbs. Freeze - drying (heat pump drying) gives the best quality medicinal herbs.
