The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of eucalyptus leaf extract (Eucalyptus globulus) on the antibacterial activity of E. ictaluri, causing purulent liver and kidney disease and hematological index on catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). The antibacterial activity of eucalyptus leaf extract was investigated by the agar disk diffusion method; Determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) using the concentration dilution method. The results showed that eucalyptus leaf extract was active against E. ictaluri, had the highest antagonizing ability with a sterile ring diameter of 23 mm; MIC, MBC were 1.56 mg/mL and 3.12 mg/mL, respectively. The results about hematological index showed that supplementing eucalyptus leaf extract 1% increased the density of leukocytes, mononuclear cells, lymphocytes in treatments supplemented with eucalyptus leaf extract compared to the control (p< 0.05). These capabilities of eucalyptus leaf extract are great, so it would be a promising candidate to be used as a supplement for catfish.
