The investigation of plant parasitic nematodes affecting chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) cv. F1 in An Phu district, An Giang province in 2022 revealed the presence of 11 genera (Ditylenchus, Tylenchorhynchus, Pratylenchus, Hirschmanniella, Rotylenchulus, Helicotylenchus, Meloidogyne, Criconemella, Tylenchulus, Aphelenchoides and Xiphinema) within 9 families and 3 orders in rhizosphere soil samples. Among these, Meloidogyne exhibited the highest prevalence and frequency (28.5%). Tylenchulus and Pratylenchus followed as the next two prevalent genera with frequencies of 14.7% and 11.4%, respectively. Similarly, in root samples, Meloidogyne dominated with the highest frequency (27.1%). Tylenchulus and Pratylenchus were the subsequent common genera with frequencies of 16.3% and 7.2%. Other genera recorded frequencies below 10%.
