Research on zoning of grouting effectiveness with use of tube mamanchette (TAM) grouting for waterproof treatment of the La Giang dike, Ha Tinh province

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the characteristics of the Tube a Manchette (TAM) grouting and its applicability in the waterproofing improvement of dike; the study compiles and synthetizes the geological structures of the dike foundation, the grain size distribution and the density of soils at dike foundation; the research also analize the transfering capability of the injected grout based on the soil uniformity coefficient (Cu) and soil density using N30 value from the Standard Penetration Test (SPT); the research classifies the application of TAM grouting into five effectiveness levels (highly effective zone, moderately effective zone, low effective zone very low effective zone, and ineffective zone). Mapinfor and ArcGIS software are utilized to establish the effective zoning map for TAM grouting in the La Giang dike system, Ha Tinh province.
