Abstract

This study was achieved to access effects of supplementing mixtures of micronutrients, microorganisms, hydrolyzed proteins in pig diet on semen quality of Mongcai and Duroc pigs. Two experiments were carried out including (i) assessing the biological characteristics of semen of experiment boars and (ii) assessing the effects of of supplementing mixtures of micronutrients, microorganisms, hydrolyzed proteins in pig diet on semen quality of Mongcai and Duroc pigs. In experiment 1, twenty individuals of Mongcai boars and twenty individuals of Duroc boars (12 to 24 months) were used to collect semen twice a week repeated 6 times to assess quality of native semen. In experiment 2, control group including 6 individuals of boars per each of Mongcai and Duroc breeds were feed by 100% industrial nutrient diet, treated group including 10 individuals of boars per each of Mongcai and Duroc breeds were feed by industrial nutrient diet supplied of 5 g selen gluconate, 5 g zinc gluconate, 13 g calcium gluconate, 1 g vitamin A, 1 g vitamin D, 2 g vitamin E, 3 g lysine, 2 g microorgnisms, 10 ml hydrolyzed protein, 1 g herbs (Andrographis paniculatas), 50 g glucose, 3 g vitamin C. Semen quality of boars were evaluated after 15 days of treatment. The results showed that evaluated native semen quality parameters of Mongcai and Duroc boars in treated group including volume, sperm concentration, sperm motility and sperm abnormal morphology were respectively 158.65 ml; 261.60 millions of sperms/ml; 80.62%; 20.40% and 240.90 ml; 279.73 millions of sperms/ml; 82.60; 19.24%. In which, in Mongcai pig, sperm volume increased by 17.7%, sperm concentration increased by 11%, sperm motility increased by 8%, decreased the rate of sperm abnormal morphology by 10% and in Duroc pig, sperm volume increased by 15.5%, sperm concentration increased by 22.1%, sperm motility increased by 10%, decreased the rate of sperm abnormal morphology by 7%. Therefor, it is advised to supply mixtures of micronutrients, microorganisms, hydrolyzed proteins in diet of Mongcai and Duroc boars with levels reported in this study.
